![]() I actually have a digital version that I created as well, that I use at the same time as I do the planner. So now that I’ve explained this whole system to you, let me dive into what I learned from it because I started on February 24.Īnd the thing that it made me do was really track every single minute I was conscious of how long I was spending on everything. Why? Right? It gives you something to actually look into, instead of just letting it all be in your head. And that is very important data I found, which allowed me to iterate and be like, Okay, it’s been a week now and I’ve been procrastinating on this thing. So you get to see the difference between what your plan was for the day, and then how it actually went down. And so you have to be able to adapt and be okay with that. You have curveballs that are thrown at you from left and right. It gives you the freedom to be like, Okay, your plans do evolve and change. So now in my planner instead of freaking out, oh no, I’m not on track with what I was going to do. But I didn’t actually end up doing it one to two because that podcast afterward, we started talking and we actually got off at 145. And then I was like, Okay, I’m going to do admin from one to two. And so let’s say that podcast went according to plan, it was 12 to one. So after you have actually completed the task, you write down when it actually happened. And then the right side is typically like your done side. And you do draw kind of squares around stuff like okay, this was on a holiday, for example, but you draw a square around the length of time that block will take you. But typically, let’s say you’re using a legal pad of some sort, and you draw a line down the middle, one side, the left side is going to be your plan, what is your to do list, you’re thinking of all the things you have to do, you block it out. These four columns are here to allow for more space or give you more iterations if you choose to. But basically, the real way to do it is just split the page in half. And now if I’m, let’s say, like working from nine to five, or 10 to six, you can see, realistically, this is how much time I have to block out, it also forces you to take a look at any task that you have an assignment, a guesstimate of how long it could take you because you do have to guess when you put it down into this block system. And so when you take a task, let’s say I’m like, Okay, I got a podcast with my buddy Bryce, for Human Evolution Project, that podcast block will go maybe, okay, 12 to one. I also like that there is a limit, it’s like 12, lines, 14 lines or whatever to where like, the most useful thing that this allows you to do is to see how much time you actually have available. And then this area is basically structured for you to be able to write 9 am 10 am 11 am 1 2 1 2 3, and so on. So I like to brain dump all of the ideas in one spot first. So basically, if you look inside this planner, there are tasks and ideas, tasks in a dusty, on one side, you’ve got tasks and ideas, which I think is really cool, you just kind of brain dump all of your ideas in a bullet fashion, I found that to be most useful for me, I found if I tried to go straight to time blocking over here, my brain kind of freezes up, I don’t want to waste the space. But then there are things that I use sparingly, it’s stuff that I use, maybe in a season, in a very busy project time period, where I’m like, Okay, let me use this to the heart of the system.īut I’ve really found my own. There are things that I like about this system, there are things that have stuck with me, and that I will probably keep doing. So it’s been about five months, I started this experiment on February 24, 2022. And I personally sometimes prefer using this planner, I like doing it in my normal notebook or journal, because it’s already in line with when I’m writing and free writing and planning and things like that. ![]() It’s something that you can do on any old piece of paper, which makes it extremely accessible. And the reason that I love this system is yes, you could get the planner that he has made specifically for this, which I haven’t shared with you, to show you what it looks like. It is something that Cal Newport developed called the time blocking system. And I found one that I actually decided to stick to, it’s actually been working for me. Have you had a tough time sticking with any productivity system or any planner that you find I have to, it’s something that I like to bounce around from thing to thing. ![]() East Regional Tiernan Center - Richmond Marc Viquez / Stadium Journey The sunken-floor style is a personal favorite, and though it isn’t overly large with a capacity of 2,700, it’s a fitting place to start this list. ![]() The gym does feature some Bird-related memorabilia which is cool, but it’s also a cool gym without that stuff. This, of course, isn’t just a list of the largest gyms in the state because that’d be a disservice to The Culture, in my opinion. I decided to take that thought and draw it out, actually going to the trouble to put together a list of potential venues to match the typical NCAA Tournament format of four regionals consisting of three arenas - two of which host the first and second rounds and one of which hosts the sweet sixteen and elite eight - as well as separate arenas to host the First Four and Final Four. That got some people thinking - what if you took the tournament and spread it around the state, hosting games in high school gyms? After all, Indiana is home to 11 of the 12 largest high school gyms in the country according to (checks notes) Wikipedia, so it’d certainly be doable. It's not always easy, but when we make it a habit, it will become easier. It means following His commands, even when they don't make sense to us, and even when we don't feel like it.īy doing these things, we can renew our strength in the Lord by waiting on Him. Practice obedience: Waiting on the Lord also means being obedient to His word and His will. It means persevering in trusting God, even when we don't see immediate results. Pray: Waiting on the Lord through prayer is a powerful way to renew our strength. Here are some specific ways that we can renew our strength in the Lord by waiting on Him: We should rely on Him, especially in difficult times, in order to overcome the obstacles we face. The verse is a message of comfort and hope for the Israelites in exile, telling them that if they put their trust in God, they will be renewed with strength and will be able to endure their difficult circumstances. "Walk and not be faint" suggests that they will be able to continue on their journey with steady and persevering steps, without losing their resolve. "Run and not grow weary" suggests that they will be able to maintain their momentum and endurance in the face of adversity, not giving in to discouragement. "Soar on wings like eagles" is a metaphor for flying with ease and grace, indicating that they will be able to overcome the obstacles they face with confidence. Placing their hope in God will strengthen their resolve to withstand their current circumstances. They won’t be victims of despair because of their circumstances. "Will renew their strength" suggests that they will experience revitalization and restoration. They are placing their hope in God for their deliverance. "Those who wait for the Lord" refers to the Israelites who have placed their trust in God during the exile. They will soar on wings like eagles they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." The meaning of this verse can be understood by analyzing a few key words and phrases. Isaiah 40:31 says, "But those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength. It emphasizes that people who put their trust in God will be renewed with strength, and will be able to endure difficult circumstances without losing hope. Isaiah 40:31 is a key verse in this theme. You can’t get hydrolyzed collagen from home cooking unless your kitchen contains an entire chemistry lab. Homemade bone broth is an affordable and delicious source of gelatin. For the Traditionalists: Gelatin from Animal Foods But you can add more gelatin and hydrolyzed collagen to your diet quite easily. Nobody eats raw collagen – theoretically you could, but you’d have to sit around gnawing on raw animal tendons and bones. Sure, you could doctor up your store-bought broth with extra gelatin powder to re-create the effect, but why would you do that when you could just use the real thing? How to Get More Gelatin and Collagen in Your Life The food science nerds at Serious Eats have taken this one on: the reason why traditional stock makes a better pan sauce than broth in a can is that the traditional version has more gelatin. For one thing, gelatin makes your pan sauces awesome. Gelatin specifically also has some great culinary uses – don’t discount the benefits of making healthy food tastier. Gelatin and collagen are both also great for your gut – they help heal intestinal permeability (“leaky gut”) and restore the normal mucosal layer in the gut.Gelatin may help normalize gut hormones in people with obesity. There’s some evidence that hydrolyzed collagen supplements improve arthritis pain and generally benefit bone and joint health. ![]() This review goes over some of the evidence that supplemental collagen may help improve skin elasticity and reduce roughness and skin aging.Because most of the health benefits of collagen/gelatin come from the amino acids, it’s likely that for most people, the benefits will be the same whether you’re getting hydrolyzed collagen or gelatin. As well as supplying the important amino acids for collagen stores in your body, gelatin and hydrolyzed collagen also have gut-healing benefits that might be even more important from a health perspective. Health Benefits of Collagen and GelatinĬollagen is important for skin and bone health – supplements are sold for everything from wrinkles to osteoporosis. But on the other hand, some people with may find the hydrosylate easier to digest, and they do have culinary differences in terms of how you’ll use them. The benefits of collagen are mostly from the amino acids, and you break down both gelatin and hydrolyzed collagen into the same amino acids in your digestive system anyway, so in terms of health benefits, hydrolyzed collagen and gelatin should be roughly equivalent. ![]() No true gelatin dissolves only in hot water. They both have the same amino acids, but different chemical properties.Įxactly the same collagen just has the proteins in smaller pieces. In the hydrolyzed form, the collagen is processed more intensively, which actually breaks up the proteins into smaller pieces. GelatinĬollagen hydrolysate (which is the same thing as hydrolyzed collagen) is not exactly the same thing as gelatin. Cooking collagen-rich foods extracts gelatin, but if more intensive processing can also create a slightly different product called collagen hydrolysate. So far, so simple, but there’s one more distinction to make. Gelatin is the cooked form of collagen – it’s the way we can eat the beneficial amino acids in the collagen without having to sit down to a lovely plate of raw tendons for dinner. And cooking the collagen transforms it into gelatin. Gelatin comes into this because people rarely eat skin and tendons raw they cook them. You might recognize these as the parts of the animals that our ancestors ate, but we typically throw away today. In food, collagen is found mostly in the “odd bits” and tougher cuts of beef that contain a lot of connective tissue. Degradation or lack of collagen can cause problems from skin wrinkles to osteoporosis. Collagen is the most important protein in connective tissue, skin, and bones you actually have more collagen in your body than any other type of protein. The story of gelatin actually starts with a protein called collagen. It wasn’t until 1987 though, that the company had its third and final name change and became known as Radio Flyer Inc to pay tribute to their most popular product. During 1977, safety improvements were made to their staple, the little red wagon to ensure children’s fingers could not be caught in the handle, and measures were added to prevent it from tipping over. From 1957, other products such as garden carts and then wheelbarrows were produced by the company. As time went on, the Radio Steel company produced different styled wagons and other children’s toys to meet demands and trends. After the end of the war, some years later, the company went back to producing their popular wagons.
